  • In recent years, whenever I've decided to press some CDs of new music for sale and promotional purposes, some joker has thought he was being really clever in saying, "Nice coasters!"

Well, because I'm perverse that way, I decided to just lean into the whole coaster thing. For just $7 (including shipping), you will get a wooden coaster featuring one of my varied, unique, and strange collage designs. These coasters not only look great, but they do the job for which they were designed! The artwork is sealed in acrylic so it won't be disturbed by condensation from you drink, and the coasters have nice little rubber feet to protect your furniture.

Plus, each coaster comes with a unique code (crossed out in sample picture) that will allow you to download my new EP, "Trying to Remember a Dream", in any format you choose and/or stream it for free on Bandcamp or using the Bandcamp app.

Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee you will get the design of your choice, and I am making new ones all the time. However, if there is a particular one you like, feel free to include a description in the notes of your order and if it's still available, I'll make sure you get it!

about

Water metaphors keep finding their way into my writing lately. Only after writing it did I realize it is about my favorite maxim:

The only way out is through.

lyrics

Had me a few misunderstandings—
Had to cut loose a few dead limbs
There’s so much water under the bridge—
I sure hope them trolls can swim

Missed my share of easy landings—
Blown a few sure things— but
Every time I wake and make a bet on myself—
Keep on waxing up those wings

I’ll just keep paddling my canoe—
With the current ‘til I am through—
There’s no fighting it anyway—
No matter what you do

I take the corners as they come—
Faster than most, slower than some
Some call it nerve, some call it dumb—
I just call it trying to get things done

Try to pick my fights when I can—
Try to see a few steps ahead
Try to steer right into the skid
I get spun around instead

I’ll just keep paddling my canoe—
With the big ol’ current ‘til I’m through
No sense in fighting it anyway—
No matter what you do—

Who knows why we fear what we fear?
Where we’re going when we leave from here
Why we only seem to hear what we want to hear

I’ll just keep paddling my canoe—
With the big ol’ current ‘til I’m through
No sense in fighting it anyway—d
‘cause no matter what you do—

You’re gonna be pulled in the wake—
Might get spilled out into a big lake
Gonna give back all you tried to take—
No mater what you do—
Keep paddling your canoe
